Keith. R. Boanas CERT.H.E – Technical Director  Advisor  UK

UEFA PRO LICENCE Completed
UEFA A LICENCE 1997
ENGLISH FA & ESTONIAN FA
ENGLISH FA COACH EDUCATION TUTOR
In an extensive coaching career spanning many levels, and various countries and continents, Keith Boanas has gained an unparalleled wealth of experience. As is the case with so many aspiring superstars dream, Keith’s chance of a glittering professional playing career was curtailed at a very young age when he was released as a young development center (is this center position or centre a place?) player from Chelsea. He went on to play literally thousands of games at leading Amateur and Semi-professional level winning many honours in County and tournament football.

After many years of working in various roles, as well as playing and coaching, he undertook the qualification process in 1986. Between then and to this day he has continued to undertake higher levels and successfully maintained his CPD (continued professional development).
Keith has worked with and assisted in the development of many senior England women internationals such as current captain Casey Stoney and Enila Aluko who are now playing professionally in the USA and also his wife, Hall of Fame member Pauline Cope/Boanas.

He has also worked with many figures from the men’s game including Chris Powel, the current head coach at Charlton Athletic and former PFA president. His career has included working with Dean Kiely Premier league GK now GK coach at West Bromwich Albion and he even tutored Simon Mcmenmy, who had a brief spell as National Manager of (the) Philippines. Furthermore, along with those still actively playing in the English leagues, Marlon King Birmingham City, Leroy Lita Swansea City, and Jason Euel.Charlton Athletic, Keith’s record of player development is incredibly impressive.

The opportunity arose for him to work in a challenging role with a professional premiere league club. He worked hard to help develop the growing women’s game and was at the forefront of women’s soccer during this opportune period of time.

After a record breaking season at Tooting & Mitcham, gaining promotion as Champions he was also working a dual role with Charlton Athletic women’s team on a part-time basis. It was at this time that Keith was offered a full time contract at Charlton covering the senior team, College based academy team and Centre of excellence. This was a challenging opportunity to play an integral part in the development of the fastest growing female participation sport in England. Also to be able to work within the realms of a Men’s Premier League football club utilizing all of their expertise and facilities with the chance of furthering the knowledge and experience already gained. It was whilst at Charlton that he had the opportunity to teach and mentor both Chris Powell and Dean Kiely through their UEFA B coaching awards.

In his time with Charlton he helped develop around 24 Senior & youth internationals in the female game. To add to his accomplishments Keith has also published three specialised training manuals for grassroots youth development.

What’s more, Keith was also head hunted for the position of assistant academy director at the David Beckham Academy in London which he held for three years before again being head hunted, this time for the role in Estonia.

Keith has been actively involved in grassroots development and league development in both the UK and Estonia. He has a very deep interest, as well as experience in Long Term Player Development (LTPD) with input in the UK, Eastern Europe and now in SE Asia. The Surrey Football Coaches association has over 500 members and is one of the most prestigious coaching associations in the UK.

Following the sad loss of their President, Sir Bobby Robson (former England, Newcastle and Barcelona Manager), Keith was approached and nominated to lead this most famous of coaching organisations with the likes of Roy Hodgson, Dave Bassett, Keith Blunt, Dario Gradi, Bob Houghton, Lenny Lawrence, Alan Smith and Mike Kelly as vice presidents.
